Kosman photo portfolio featured in French magazine
I was honored to contribute a photo portfolio to the Fall 2012 issue of Art Magazine published in France. Formerly Cream Magazine, Art has reinvented itself with thick glossy paper and amazing color reproduction. I was even more surprised when my name showed top-billing on the cover. Much love to the French BMX scene and I appreciate all the compliments over the past month. Check out some of the spreads below. I left out a couple spreads so you’ll have to go check out the 8-page feature at your local Barnes and Noble store.
Skullcandy TV BMX Adventure
Skullcandy had wanted to bring their BMX team to the North Shore of Hawaii to create an original content piece for their Skullcandy TV channel. I brought along the Sony FS 700, Panasonic AF-100, and HPX170 to capture the BMX action along with the incredible sunrises and amazing action and scenery. I had four days to produced a music-video-style episode that blended authentic lifestyle, BMX and Skullcandy product feature the Fix and Cassette headphones. The finished product topped 71,000+ views in three days and is still climbing.
Vans LXVI Global Ad Campaign
Last year Vans launched a new line of shoes with a classic look and a future-forward feel to their classic surf-skate-Bmx shoe. LXVI being the Roman numerals for ‘66 is the year Van Doren stamped out his first shoes in Southern California. The rest is history. I produce a lot of the BMX media for Vans in both print and film formats and this has been one of my favorite campaigns to work on in quite a while. Mixing action, lifestyle and detail with an authentic balance has always been Vans’ strength and this ad campaign embodies all of those aspects in some beautiful LXVI spreads. Here is one example as well as a video to wrap your head around.

Monster Energy Original Content
240 frames per second zip line filming
Monster hit me up to produce some unique original content with Australian Cam White and UK’s Ben Wallace for their 4million+ social media network. We all ended up in the Mojave desert at Cory Nastazio’s private trails with 4 HD camera, a 35-ft crane and a 200-ft long zipline. The result was this 3minute webisode featuring some epic BMX riding from the Mongoose BMX riders Cam and Ben kicking off at 6:30am for two days.
Rolling Stone + Trey Hardee Olympic Decathalete
One of my Trey Hardee photos was published this month in Rolling Stone magazine. If you haven’t heard of Trey Hardee, you’ll soon will. He is the track and field world champion that is going to dominate the Olympics in 2012. We shot this at Azusa Pacific University using a Pro Foto 7b pack and gridded beauty dish from above.
Here is another shot of Trey Hardee from the same day. Thanks to Red Bull for the production.
